I started my day out so beyond excited! I was going to visit my friend Jamie in Salt Lake City, and we had so many fun things planned...shopping, new temple open house, Lagoon tickets, yummy restaurants....yeah. Well my flight was supposed to leave OKC airport at 7 am so I woke up at 4:30 to get ready and finish up packing so I could be at the airport before 6. Everything went smoothly and I arrive at the airport in plenty of time only to walk into the world's longest line! I knew there was no way I was going to make my flight, but i thought that since there were so many going to the same place that it would maybe be delayed. Well around 8 they finally announce that the flight is canceled and they will "do their best" to reroute everyone. Well 4 1/2 HOURS LATER...they tell me that all of the other flights are booked and even look on other airlines..and no luck. So they refunded my money and I called Rob to come get me... I was SO DISAPPOINTED! I will try again next month...but with a different airlines.
Savannah went to the eye doctor and the doc said she was seeing a little farsighted, which is common with children but since she only tested a 20/50 in her right eye, he wrote her a Rx for glasses. Well we picked them up today and she's been wearing them and tonight she finally took them off and said that they make everything "big and wiggly" I think they weren't needed, so I think I will have her retested on Mon.

haircut

Porter go this haircut today, ive been trying to trim it because every time i take him to a barber they always give him the same little , cut and his hair is so wild and crazy straight and he has A LOT of hair. So today i took him into my hairstylist and she did such a great job, i'm charging my camera so i dont have any pictures to share yet. Before we left she styled it into a faux-hawk, it is super cute! I have to make sure i remember my camera the next time he gets a trim because he makes the most serious face while she's cutting his hair. It was pretty funny. Other than that we've been putting little things together for Father's day. I made rob another small photo album that he can take with him when hes gone. Savannah's working on a book, she hasnt let me see it yet.

So not a whole lot to report, I've been somewhat busy with school work, I am so glad I only took 2 classes this summer. We went to the sprinkler park today, which I love. The kiddos think its pretty cool too. Rob is flying today so I always get a little anxious until he calls to tell me he's landed, you'd think after almost 4 years of this i would be used to it. So Savannah watches the show Jonas and loves the Jonas Brothers and today we were in the car listening to radio disney and a jonas brothers song came on the radio and in Porters limited vocabulary he said" Jo Bruders" and kept repeating it. It was pretty cute. He was looking to Savannah for approval it was funny.

schools in session
So my summer semester started last Monday and I'm taking a Psych class that just absolutely fascinates me. I love studying the processes and theories of the mind!! I love the case studies, and am so eager to learn more. I guess its a good thing my degree is social studies! On the other hand since my degree is social studies I am also taking a criminal justice class which is, lets just say interesting! I only take 2 classes in the summer that way I can have some sort of break from the chaos. I don't want to completely take a semester off because I'm afraid it will be too tempting to not go back!! So I'm going to keep on trekking on!!

Mei Tai wrap
Here's what I was up to today (picture coming soon) I made a mei tai wrap to wear Porter. I t can be used on smaller babies too, but I wanted to put Porter on my back. My awesome friend "B" taught me. All you need is one yard of a super thick cotton, you can really use whatever you want but I like the strength in the decor fabrics, that way you don't have to line it. Then I used another yard of canvas material for the straps. My friend used a corduroy material. The one I made was just out of scrap material but now that I somewhat know what i'm doing, I will be on the prowl for super cute fabric! Anyway here's the link to the pattern I used, except I didn't round the top, I kept mine square cause I think its cuter.

Rob and I went on a pretty cool date tonight. We ate some yummy Pei Wei and then ran to Walmart to kill time before our horrible movie( we'll get to that in a minute) I bought the Twilight movie and Rob bought the X-men trilogy which is only 10 dollars at Wally world right now. You know what ? I really hate Walmart. I don't think i've ever been to one where i didn't feel like the only non-mutant. I do go to walmart if we have to, but still....Anyway, we went to the movies and saw "The Land of the Lost" DO NOT WASTE YOU PRECIOUS TIME AND MONEY. It was filthy and retarded!!! Enough said! Well i'm off to go finish the last of my summer reading, I start classes again on Monday.
