Thanksgiving Weekend

We had such a great Thanksgiving. Savannah was out of school from Wednesday on, and we enjoyed our lazy mornings together. That's one things me and Savannah have in common, we love our lazy mornings...as increasingly rare as they may be. As soon as she gets up in the morning she will peak in my room to see if I'm still in bed and climb under the covers to cuddle. She is so incredibly sweet...and she doesn't even mind my dragon breath. We've had some of our best conversations on those fun mornings. Well we had a couple lazy mornings this week, and I'm sad its almost over. On Wednesday night Rob invited the missionaries over to eat with us, and he also invited a young man he met at church. I was excited to cook our own Thanksgiving feast, and it was just that....a feast. We pigged out, and it was good. We are still snacking on leftovers. It was nice to just be the four of us this year. As much as we love traveling to see our families, sometimes its nice to be together just the four of us. As for black Friday we found some great online deals (while shopping in our jammies)....then I went to get my hair touched up, which turned out really light (but a nice change) followed by taking the kiddos to see a matinee of Tangled. It was a really cute movie. Some of the time I find myself enduring kids movies in the theatre, but this one was great. So all in all this weekend has been so amazing. I didn't get any great pictures since my camera lens is half way broken and needs to be repaired. Tomorrow I hope we can get our Christmas tree up and decorated!!

Giving Thanks

Life has been pretty great around here. There's been nothing out of the ordinary, but I think that's what makes it so great. I've always been an observant person. I love to notice the little things. I'm trying to pass this on to my kiddos. As we are in the car I want them to notice the crazy Oklahoma clouds or the way the trees have amazing colors right now. As me and Savannah were walking the other night, she noticed the way the leaves crunched as we were walking. I hope she's making memories. I'm so unbelievably grateful for the life I've been given. I love being Savannah and Porter's mom. I love teaching them about the world, then listening to them teach me what they see. I'm so grateful to feel this little baby wiggle and kick, I'm excited to add another one to our little family. I'm grateful that for my sweet husband. I'm grateful that he is so giving, kind and patient. I have so much to be thankful for.

I need to start writing down the things I hear the kiddos saying while they play.

Porter is playing superheros with Savannah right now and I just over heard Wolverine(Porter) say, " I will shank you with my claws"...yowza!

Where did he learn the word shank? Maybe I heard him wrong.

Stork Radio

My ob has a no children policy. He doesn't allow children over 12 months to go back into his office (for safety reasons). So the kids haven't been able to hear the baby's heart beat or see the ultrasounds. I found a great company where you can rent a doppler to keep in your home. This has been so fun for the kids to actually hear the baby's heartbeat. Savannah's been calling her Cora, so that might just stick.

It's a Girl!!!

We had our major ultrasound today. They checked the anatomy and made sure baby looked good. So far baby looks amazing. Most importantly we found out we are having a GIRL! We are all excited. Especially Savannah. She's been talking about wanting a baby sister since Porter was born, so now she's excited to have a "girl's only" pink room. Porter doesn't really seem to care, but I'm sure he will when he actually gets to meet her. We have a lot of names picked out, it's juat a matter of narrowing them down. We love the names Cora, Colette, Eliza, Hazel, or Fallon (Rob's likes Fallon, me...not so much). We have the middle name picked out already(Pauline, after my grandmother). We're so excited to see you grow little girl!!

Happy Halloween

Here in Oklahoma they celebrate Halloween on Saturday if it falls on Sunday. SO we had a pretty amazing Saturday. My parents drove down on Friday night. They even bought us Andy's ice cream and stored it in a cooler!! Yum. We woke up on Saturday and Robbie was called into work for a meeting so we ran some errands and came home so Porter-man could take a nap. We got the kids all rdressed up...Savannah went as Batgirl and Porter went as Spiderman. We went to the church chili cook off then went trick-or-treating on base. We love trick-or-treating on base, we always feel so safe. It was so much fun.
