Baby Ninja?

So yesterday me and Porter were at Old Navy, exchanging some items and i decided to take a look at the adorable Halloween costumes they have out already( I know its only the end of August!!) Anyway we were looking at the little boy costumes and they have a little NINJA costume!!!! For those who don't know they call my husband that at work, for a couple of crazy reasons. Also, right after Porter got his tubes in Rob was playing and wrestling with him and Rob said "HI YA!!" And Porter repeated it over and over. So our baby ninja will probably be a ninja for Halloween. Funny!

Trapped in JCPenny

After Rob got home from work yesterday, I decided to run to JCPenny to pick up our family portraits, and Rob was going to the gym to play some basketball. SO I grabbed the kids (Porter had just gotten up from his nap) and thought it would be a quick stop. We had a birthday party to be at at 6, but i figured i had plenty of time. I was walking through the store and the portrait studio is located in the back of the store. I didn't bring anything with me but my little wallet/change purse that has my license,military id, debit cards and some cash and attached to that are my keys. So I have porter in my arms and i dropped my keys and asked Savannah to pick them up for me and hold on to them...my mistake i know! She was also holding on to a robot she brought from home. So we get back to the portrait place, i get the photos, and decided we had a little time to look around really quick. So we are walking around and we go to leave and i notice that i didn't have my keys and remembered that Savannah picked them up. I asked Savannah were my keys were and she she's"I don't know, i think they're lost." So i begin to panic a little and start looking around and asking cashiers/workers. So an hour later I really begin to worry, and they got the loss prevention guy out there looking, so i go back to the photo studio and ask them if i can use their phone and i call rob to come up and help me. So when Rob got there we continued to paw through JCPenny looking like a couple of crazy people. Finally the loss prevention guys ask me if i had an alarm button on my keys, i said yes, and they said that if someone found my keys they could've just gone outside and pushed the alarm button and took off with our car. So Rob goes outside to see if our car is still out there, and it was. When Rob was on his way back into the store he saw a woman telling the guy at the checkout that she found this item in a purse in the purse section! So Savannah had decided when we were walking to drop my keys in a "Pretty" purse. (She was probably looking at one while we were in the store and dropped it in there, then forgot about it). So we were in JCPenny a total of 2 1/2 hours, and i'm in no hurry to return!

Amanda's Visit

So Rob's sister came to visit this week. It was fun. We feel bad there wasn't more to do while she was here. Amanda, me and Savannah got pedicures on Sat morning. Then we went to the sprinkler park, which is always fun, but we couldn't stay very due to my forgetting Porter's earplugs. But all in all it was a great visit and we were sad to see her go. I'm starting a book club with some friends. This month we will be reading "The constant Princess" by Philippa Gregory. Its about the life of Queen Katherine (King Henry's 1st wife) hopefully it's good. After that i think we'll read "Parenting with Love and Logic."

Museum of Natural History

On Saturday we went to the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History at the OU campus with Robs parents. We had so much fun, Savannah had a blast, she had so much interest in all of the different exhibits and had SO many questions. She really loved the museum ( it must be in her blood).

Porter's First Birthday!!!

Porter turned one on the 14th and I can't believe my sweet little boy is one already. This year has gone by so fast. My parents came down a couple days before his birthday, and we had some friends over and had a little party. Then Robs parents came down on his birthday and we had another little celebration. Ear-band-it

So Porter's ENT instructed us to keep water from Porter's ears, so he gave us the name of a company that makes ear-band-its that are made out of a wet suit material and keeps the silicone earplugs in his ears and water out as well. Its stretchy and velcros in the back. They are pretty neat!

Savannahs First Day of Pre-K

So Savannah attended her first day of Pre-K at Tinker Elementary school today. She woke up so excited and got ready quickly, and waited for the rest of us. Then we all went to walk her to her classroom, and she was so strong. She went right in and met her teacher and found her seat, I took one more picture and said goodbye. I was surprised at how emotional I was by the time I got into the car. She is growing up so fast. I love her so much and am so proud of her...Good Job Savanni!!!

Porter's Tubes

Porter had surgery to get tubes for his ears. We had to be at the hospital by 6am this morning and we were instructed not to give him anything to eat or drink after midnight (and a lot of times he likes to drink at night, especially when his ears are hurting) so this morning he woke up at 5 am and was very hungry and grumpy. We made it to the hospital and the put him into a room and changed him into a gown (he looked so cute). Then the nurses came to get his info and his ENT came in to explain everything again and warned us that he may be quite upset when they bring him back in because he will be waking up and since his hearing will be better he will be hearing new sounds and waking up to a bunch of strangers. Well they took him back and 25 min later we could him him screaming as they were bringing him down the hall, but as soon as he saw us ( and his bottle :) he was happy again, but very sleepy. So we came home and he took a huge nap and is now acting great!! I'm so grateful everything went smoothly today.

Picture Day

Today was a pretty busy day. Porter has been getting up pretty early since his ears are still hurting him ( he gets tubes a week from today yea!!!) so we got an early start this morning and he even took two naps today which isn't normal for him, but he's also cutting 4 teeth at once. Anyway I'd made an appointment for him to get his 1st birthday photos( Yes, he will be one on the 14th....*tear*) and they turned out so great!! I'm so excited to show our family. Then this weekend is Oklahoma tax-free weekend so i took Savannah out and we bought all of her school supplies, it was so weird watching her pick out a backpack and purchase school supplies (can you believe she has a supply list for pre-k?) but it was so much fun and she had a blast.
