Porter had surgery to get tubes for his ears. We had to be at the hospital by 6am this morning and we were instructed not to give him anything to eat or drink after midnight (and a lot of times he likes to drink at night, especially when his ears are hurting) so this morning he woke up at 5 am and was very hungry and grumpy. We made it to the hospital and the put him into a room and changed him into a gown (he looked so cute). Then the nurses came to get his info and his ENT came in to explain everything again and warned us that he may be quite upset when they bring him back in because he will be waking up and since his hearing will be better he will be hearing new sounds and waking up to a bunch of strangers. Well they took him back and 25 min later we could him him screaming as they were bringing him down the hall, but as soon as he saw us ( and his bottle :) he was happy again, but very sleepy. So we came home and he took a huge nap and is now acting great!! I'm so grateful everything went smoothly today.

I'm so glad Porter's tube surgery went quick and well. Blake was very clingy for a week after surgery in May but did not prefer to eat very much. After 2 weeks he regained his appetite. His tubes are still in there and his speech is picking up.
In a week or two, Porter will be better than normal and his improved hearing will accelerate his speech development.
I'm glad everything went well. No matter what kind of surgery its always stressful for mom. I'm glad he is doing better and I hope he continues to improve.
Tough experience, I'm glad it's done with, and that he can hear now. Hopefully now you get some more sleep at night!
