So not a whole lot to report, I've been somewhat busy with school work, I am so glad I only took 2 classes this summer. We went to the sprinkler park today, which I love. The kiddos think its pretty cool too. Rob is flying today so I always get a little anxious until he calls to tell me he's landed, you'd think after almost 4 years of this i would be used to it. So Savannah watches the show Jonas and loves the Jonas Brothers and today we were in the car listening to radio disney and a jonas brothers song came on the radio and in Porters limited vocabulary he said" Jo Bruders" and kept repeating it. It was pretty cute. He was looking to Savannah for approval it was funny.

schools in session
So my summer semester started last Monday and I'm taking a Psych class that just absolutely fascinates me. I love studying the processes and theories of the mind!! I love the case studies, and am so eager to learn more. I guess its a good thing my degree is social studies! On the other hand since my degree is social studies I am also taking a criminal justice class which is, lets just say interesting! I only take 2 classes in the summer that way I can have some sort of break from the chaos. I don't want to completely take a semester off because I'm afraid it will be too tempting to not go back!! So I'm going to keep on trekking on!!

Mei Tai wrap
Here's what I was up to today (picture coming soon) I made a mei tai wrap to wear Porter. I t can be used on smaller babies too, but I wanted to put Porter on my back. My awesome friend "B" taught me. All you need is one yard of a super thick cotton, you can really use whatever you want but I like the strength in the decor fabrics, that way you don't have to line it. Then I used another yard of canvas material for the straps. My friend used a corduroy material. The one I made was just out of scrap material but now that I somewhat know what i'm doing, I will be on the prowl for super cute fabric! Anyway here's the link to the pattern I used, except I didn't round the top, I kept mine square cause I think its cuter.

Rob and I went on a pretty cool date tonight. We ate some yummy Pei Wei and then ran to Walmart to kill time before our horrible movie( we'll get to that in a minute) I bought the Twilight movie and Rob bought the X-men trilogy which is only 10 dollars at Wally world right now. You know what ? I really hate Walmart. I don't think i've ever been to one where i didn't feel like the only non-mutant. I do go to walmart if we have to, but still....Anyway, we went to the movies and saw "The Land of the Lost" DO NOT WASTE YOU PRECIOUS TIME AND MONEY. It was filthy and retarded!!! Enough said! Well i'm off to go finish the last of my summer reading, I start classes again on Monday.

I had an awesome workout today, and I so needed it. I love the feeling of accomplishment after a good workout. I took Savannah with me, they have a children s area where I can watch her while I do cardio. There was another woman next to me working out and she brought her 8 month old twin girls, and Savannah was so sweet, giving them toys, and feeding them, it was all very cute! Porter is pretty much back to his sweet little self. While he was napping today we had a quick rainstorm pass through, so me and Savanah ran outside and pat on the porch and watch the rain come down. I love the smell of rain when its warm outside. Savannah said it reminded her of Florida, which really surprised me because when we left FL she wasn't even 3 yet. It used to rain every afternoon like clockwork. She has a crazy good memory.

I'm trying to stick with my goal to blog everyday, even if I believe there's nothing interesting to write about. I realized the other day when I was going through one of my old journals, that it was so interesting to read the "boring" events of my life just a couple years ago. So I'm starting to think that even though it may seem boring or mundane, in a couple years it will be fun to look back and remember a different time. That being said, I took Porter in for a check-up today because he rarely runs a fever and he had one yesterday and last night, and he hadn't been sleeping very well, so I figured it was probably his ears, since thats really all he EVER has wrong with him. Well I take that back he does suffer from eczema on his legs and arms, so he had a little flare up with that, which is pretty normal for this time of year since for him, its allergy related. But I noticed he broke out in little rashes on his cheeks and ears, which was not normal for him. So anyway I took him in this morning and sure enough he has an ear infection in his right ear, that ear has given him problems since he was 6 weeks old. So they gave him an antibiotic RX and told us that the rash on his face was eczema and asked if i'd switched any of his products ( I have to be VERY careful about what touches his skin i.e. lotions, diaper cream, laundry detergent, perfume I wear) and I remembered that I had been using a baby sunscreen this whole past week and didn't even remember to check to see if it was fragrance-free. Of course it wasnt so we found the culprit! I immediatly bought some Aveeno baby free and clear sunscreen since our kids are outside constantly throughout the day, and he's his father's child when it comes to sunburns.
It was aso that awesome time of season to buy textbooks. I needed to go buy my textbooks for summer semester, and thats always a treat. I won't be in school forever right?
