Happy Birthday Savannah

Savannah started her birthday off with her favorite breakfast, and then spent the afternoon on a date with Daddy. They went out to lunch and then he took her shopping. They ended up buying her a dollhouse, which is pretty darn cute. I had planned on making Savannah her favorite cake, but since momma's on bedrest, Daddy took her to the bakery and let her pick her own cake. She chose a double chocolate chip cookie cake with Hello Kitty on top. So we had some of her cookie cake and opened the rest of her presents. She is having a little party next weekend when our families come down. I just wanted to tell my little Savannah how much we love her, and are so unbelieveably proud of her.

Baby Girl update

Most of you that read this probably already know whats going on, but If I don't write things down I won't remember them. Especially since our kiddos are pretty spaced out and it gets hard for me to compare pregnancies. Rob's been gone with work for the past 2 weeks and before he left I was just really dreading this trip. I've been through these so many times, but for some reason I was so emotional about him leaving this time around. Well a couple night ago I noticed a couple contractions but wrote them off as Braxton Hicks. Well on Tuesday we got a ginormous snow storm that left us with 12.1 inches of snow. The one thing I've learned in the 4 years we've lived here is Oklahoma is never...never prepared for snow/ice. I just kept praying that we would keep power. It makes things a bit more bearable. Anyway when I went to bed on Tuesday night I noticed more contractions, but figured I was just nervous about the weather and being snowed in. On Wednesday my ob called to reschedule my appt since the weather was so bad. I let him know what was going on even though I was feeling fine. Well, given my history with having the other two kiddos early he wanted me to go get checked and atleast get a perscription for medicine to hopefully prevent future contractions. My awesome friend Beth offered to take my babies to her house to play then take me to the hospital to get checked out. I got hooked up to the monitors and I wasn't contracting...she said she could see "irrability" but no contractions (I'm not even sure what that means). Baby looked great and was moving around like crazy. They went ahead and did a cervical exam just to see if the previous contractions did anything. Sure enough I was dialated to a 2 and 60%effaced. Which pretty much stinks. I'm only 32 weeks. They went ahead and gave me a steroid shot to help develop her lungs quicker, just in case. They also gave me a shot of medicine to make sure I didn't contract during the night. So long story short, they sent me home reluntatly as long as I promised to stay on bedrest until I see my ob again this next week. So we're praying she stays in longer. Luckily Rob got permission to come home early, and should be getting in this evening. That will make a world's difference for me. I've missed him so much. Also we have to look forward to our little Savannah's birthday on Saturday!!

Its been too chilly for the kiddos to go outside whenever they want. Here's our solution to cabin fever.

My sweet friend Cathy is a labor and delivery nurse and offered to give us an ultrasound since my ob has a no children policy. She wanted to give the kiddos (and Rob) a chance to see the baby. We also wanted to verify the sex since the ultrasound tech at my 20 week appt was somewhat confident it was a girl but couldn't get a great shot. After cathy had scanned over our sweet baby and checked the sex (still a girl). She taught Savannah how to do it, then let Savannah scan me. Savannah was in heaven, not only is she completely facsinated my anything science realted, she was so excited to see the baby. Cathy also let Rob scan me which was fun. She asked Porter if he wanted to but he was too busy watching....and jumping. It was such a neat experience, and made us all that much more excited for our little addition!

Funny Boy

Porter had his first Sunday in Primary today. For those not of our faith, kiddos stay in nursery until they are 3 then they get to attend a Sunday school class for their age group. Porter moved up today with 3 other little boys all his age. They were so cute sitting in their little chairs and singing songs. I just wish time wouldn't go by so quickly. I feel so unbelievably blessed to be a mommy and to be able to watch these sweet babies grow into amazing children. I try to savor each moment I have with them, and am quickly realizing how quickly they grow. My heart just feels so full of gratitude for the opportunity to teach them, rock them, sing to them , and just be there with them. I truly feel overwhelmed with joy.
